Hot Blast 1400, Wood or Coal Burning
An Alternative Source of Heat for Your Home
The Hot Blast 1400 can work in conjunction with your existing heating system, making good use of the ductwork that has already been installed in your home. The furnace can also be used as the central heating unit in your home. Burning wood logs up to 27”, the furnace can provide heat when other options are unreasonable or are not available. Allowing you to rely on your own resources when desired, the wood-burning furnace may contribute to a reduction in your monthly heating costs.
Important Features of the Furnace
The furnace heats up to 2,400 square feet, making it a powerful addition to your home’s heating system. It comes with twin 550 CFM blowers which provide the air flow and ventilation necessary for efficient heating. The 6” flue collar provides the necessary connection between the furnace and your chimney inserts and vent pipes. The flue collar should provide a seal that keeps ash and dangerous gases from escaping into your home. Two 8” diameter heat outlets allow the heat flow to be transferred efficiently from the furnace through the ductwork while the blowers provide ample circulation.
Installation of a New Furnace
The furnace comes with an instruction manual to guide you through the steps of installation. If you are uncertain about any steps of the installation, you might want to hire an experienced technician to do the installation for you. The furnace will need access to existing ductwork, a filter box, tubing for cold air return, and adequate ventilation. The manual provides several different installation scenarios to match the circumstances of individual homes. Some tools and extra materials will be necessary for installation. Most of those tools and supplies are easily found at hardware stores, for the homeowner who doesn’t already have them.
